This is a good product, with one minor complaint. It returns most shots as advertised. If your basketball goal is in a place where the ball can bounce away frequently (for example off an uneven edge of a driveway), this item will save you from having to chase the ball most of the time.Also, it does return most shots back out into the playing field.However, it is very "springy" and even a little flimsy. So, every now and then a shot will go through the net in such a way that it drops almost straight down (ie, this return mechanism does not send the ball back out into the field). However, this problem does not happen very often, and it's not that big of an issue in the first place.I like this particular return because it has a small footprint when hanging from the rim. There is another competing product that seems more sturdy, but it hangs down and out much further, which could get in the way.Anyway, I shoot on a driveway with lots of cracks, and the goal sits just outside the edge of my driweway. Before I had this return, LOTS of shots would bounce off the edge of the driveway and roll down my neighbors driveway. I spent a lot of time chasing balls.Now, 95% of my made shots come back out into the playing area, so I give this product a recommendation. Other than being a little flimsy in a few situations, it is otherwise very good.

I've never owned one of these before so it was quite a challenge to get in place on the basketball rim. Since it is somewhat difficult to put back on it is not getting the use I had hoped for from my son. This product is made of plastic but seems to be pretty sturdy. It does catch the ball well and returns it to a predictable place on the court allowing more time for shooting and less time chasing. If there was a way to assign a 3.5 rating I would give it the extra half point.

We have a Spaulding basketball hoop and for ours the installation of this product is very frustrating. You have to disassemble the spring guard and let it hang down. So the spring is now exposed to the elements. The directions are of little help. It also seems very flimsy plastic. Guess we'll see how long it holds up.
