Tempered glass backboards are used in High School, College and Pro programs. Comes with a Heavy-duty Spring-Flex Rim, 36" offset from the pole to the backboard, infinite height adjustment from 7.5 to 10 feet with the Rapid-Cam one-handed height adjustment mechanism adjusts in seconds and is faster than any crank system on the market, 5" x 5" square steel pole with 9" x 9" bolt down pattern, professional quality foam frame pad, Anti-Flex anchoring system reduces pole vibration and allows for easy installation and removal, and pad lock & key included to prevent unwanted adjustment. I bought and installed my Mammoth 60" system in 2004 (from Sports Authority).Product - The product itself is great. I sank the mounting bolts in a 48" deep slab of cement at the end of my driveway. Erecting the post on top is relatively simple, though it does take several adults because it's really heavy. Once up it is impressively rigid during play & the backboard/rim is responsive like quality systems found in gyms. Rim height can be adjusted from approx 7 to 10 feet, though the strength needed to adjust it rules out small children (not all bad).Warranty - I live in Michigan which has really hot summers, really cold winters, and a fair amount of rain/moisture. While the hoop was easily adjustable for the first 5 years, the gas springs (used to raise/lower the rim) started to leak until they froze solid (in 2010 after 6 years). I believe the Michigan seasonal weather contributed to this problem, but regardless, the product eventually failed. So this summer (2011) I remembered that the system came with a lifetime warranty and called the company about the problem. After a reasonable proof-of-ownership conversation they mailed me 2 new gas springs at no charge. I installed them in about 30 minutes & my system now operates as good as when I first bought it. No outdoor product lasts forever without maintenance, and it was great to see the company back their product.Overall the product is great, but it was the fact that the company stood behind a 7 year old product that motivated me to write this review.

I'm thoroughly impressed. Mammoth makes an exceptional hoop. It's extremely sturdy. Backboard feel is excellent. Much faster and easier to adjust height than other systems. Installation instructions were clear and the base design makes it easy to adjust or move the hoop down the road. Installation isn't a one man job though. It weighs 535 pounds, but that weight is part of what makes this hoop so great. I highly recommend it.

I recently installed this for our backyard court. Basically, it's a rock solid well made piece of equipment. The up/down movement works exceptionally smooth and allows you to stop the height at any point. After seeing how the lift mechanism works, I can't imagine why you would want one like the Goalrilla that screws up and down. The board shakes very little. As a matter of fact, the boys commented that they thought it had less give than the ones hung from the ceiling at the school gym.The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars... One of the lifter arms was not drilled through properly. Somehow it came drilled through at about a 20 degree angle and as a result I could not insert one of the bolts. I had to do some work opening up the hole with a Dremel before I could get it assembled.
