I bought this goal as a Christmas gift for my sons [...]. To my immense relief, this goal system was easy to put together if you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and are at all familiar with "exploded diagrams" for assembly. It says right on the first assembly page to "bore" out the holes if the paint is too thick. I just used a rubber mallet to assist with any sticky bolts, which were few and far between, This was a piece of cake to assemble and we elected to fill the base with the recommended 300 lbs. of sand instead of water. No leaks, no evaporation and sand is cheap! I put it together by myself, and I do agree that it would be easier at times with two people, so if you can get someone to assist, then it will go all the faster. The nuts and bolts are in all sorts of different packages and really aren't organized too well, but the assembly instructions have actual size drawings of each bolt and nut and how many you should have. A little common sense goes a long way here. The height adjusts perfectly and even my 11 year old son can do it when needed without any difficulty or safety issues. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good starter goal for home use. It is sturdy [...] Have a basic set of socket wrenches and screwdrivers and you will be fine. I gave it a 4 rating only based on the cheap net that is packaged with it. We bought a heavy duty one for a few dollars at a sporting goods store and it enhances the look and use of the goal.

I bought this for my two kids and they've used it with their friends and it's held up as good as new at a great price. They all love playing against the glass like in the NBA!

We filled the base with playground sand, which took a while since the hole for it is pretty small. If you don't fill the base, it is very top heavy and will fall over. Once the base is full, it's awesome! My 12 year old daughter has been using it a ton since Christmas..obviously we didn't get a while Christmas! I'm glad she can enjoy it before we get our snow storms! Having the height adjustments is helpful. She uses the higher setting, but I have an 8 yr old daughter too that wants to use it :)
