The Spalding 88365 in-ground system features a 54"x32" steel framed acrylic backboard that is 3/16" thick. The sytem also comes with a 3 piece, 4" square pole. The system features the Arena Slam breakaway rim with an institutional style wrap. Also included is an authentic board pad. The U-Turn Lift system provides infinite height adjustment from 7' to 10'. The system includes a ground sleeve for easy installation and removal.

This basketball system is about what I expected for the price. It's fairly solid but does have a few flaws that prevent it from being a 5-star item. The things I like are that it is easy to adjust from less tahn 7.5ft to 10ft. It adjust by screw, so it is hard to know exactly when you get to ten feet. The backboard is a good size.First weaknes is the ground sleeve. Using the ground sleeve makes installation easy as you can cement it in and then slide the pole out and assemble everything and slide the near completed system into the sleeve. The drawback to this is the sleeve is plastic and not that sturdy. It does contribute to some wobble in the system. If you do not want to remove the system then just sement the whole thing in the ground. It will be much more stable.Second weak point is the rim. It is breakaway and tension is adjustable, but regrdless of how tight the tension is set is still has some side to side wobble.Overall, I think is appropriately priced and will hold up. That being said I wish that I had cemented directly into the ground and I'm considering changing out the rim for something more sturdy.

This is a very good and sturdy system if installed properly. This will take at least two able-bodied adults over a period of a couple of days (for cement to cure). Though I installed it by myself, I would not recommend. Handling 8-80lb bags of quikcrete is always a chore when doing alone. Other than pouring the concrete, installing/setting the pole is the next tough task. The 3-piece pole is very difficult to assemble. Slamming the pole on scrap wood to force the parts is easier said than done. Just make sure you have wood that's larger than 4" wide and you "slam" the sections together evenly. If not, you will bend the ends of the poles, making it difficult to install other parts later. Also, make sure you tape the pole joints good prior to pouring the concrete, or it will leak down the pole and make a mess. I filled the pole with concrete after I installed it into the ground. It takes about a bag and a half - mix this wetter than usual. Just keep knocking up the pole until it's all solid. I know instruction say lay it on a sawhorse, but handling a 250lb pole and inserting it into a 4" square hole is tough. The backboard/rim is very easy from this point.Only trouble was that backboard was cracked when arrived. They quickly sent over another one within 3 days. This is a very good system for the price. A better system would have the ground anchor and flanged pole, which is at least $500 higher. The front crank height adjustement system is similar to what's in the gyms now and works very well.

Worth the price. Just finished setting up. Took two days with a the assistance of a handyman. Need 900lbs of concrete...about 8 bags for the base. Two bags to fill the pole. Very secured system. Looks great.The backboard shakes only slightly when there's impact from the ball (normal with all basketball systems). The pole doesn't move at all.Only issue was the original system that was sent had a cracked backboard ( looked like a manufacturing issue). I was amazed how quickly Amazon sent a replacement (about 2 days) and emailed me a FED EX label to return the broken board.
